Know before you go

Where you can ride in Victoria.

HeyYa carts can go almost anywhere a car can, with a few important exceptions. Your rental agreement and operating instructions always take priority.

You can

  • Ride in the City of Victoria and Oak Bay, anywhere south of Fort St and Cadboro Bay Rd
  • Ride north of Fort St in the downtown core near the waterfront, though we recommend staying off Douglas and Blanshard
  • Cross the Johnson Street Bridge, without going past Dominion Rd/Arm St unless you have prior permission

You can't

  • Ride in Saanich or View Royal
  • Drive on beaches, the seawall or the boardwalk
  • Use bike lanes, the Galloping Goose or any pedestrian or bike trail
  • Cross any bridge other than the Johnson Street Bridge
  • Use freeways
  • Drive on Blanshard St north of Caledonia Ave
  • Enter the pedestrian-only section of Government St between Wharf and View St
