Know before you go

Where you can ride in Vancouver.

HeyYa carts can go almost anywhere a car can, with a few important exceptions. Your rental agreement and operating instructions always take priority.

You can

  • Ride north of 16th Ave and west of Main St without prior permission
  • Drive around Stanley Park, staying on the road
  • Cross the Burrard, Granville and Cambie bridges
  • Use bus lanes, which HeyYa carts are encouraged to use
  • Stick to roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h or less

You can't

  • Cross the Lions Gate Bridge or use the Stanley Park Causeway (Hwy 99)
  • Drive on the seawall, beaches, parks, or pedestrian and bike trails
  • Use bike lanes
  • Use freeways, including Highway 1
  • Drive on Granville Street between Smithe and Pender (bus and pedestrian only)
  • Use SW Marine Drive between 41st and 16th Ave, or Chancellor Boulevard, where limits exceed 50 km/h

Parking follows the same rules as any passenger vehicle, and many downtown spots become no-stopping zones after 3 pm. Read the full rules and parking tips
